WHAT THE BUSK PROJECT IS ALL ABOUT
Busk is a project aiming to understand more about adults who imagine new possibilities for how they contribute value through their work, for their own good and for social good. What makes the pursuit of new possibilities challenging and what allows people to stay with the pursuit over time may open up insights about how to make it easier for people to get what they need for a more impactful and fulfilled life. Though the project has nothing to do with music, the name takes its inspiration from “buskers” who open their instrument cases on the street and play.
Figuring out how to make finding a new direction easier to tackle starts with learning about the goals and challenges experienced by people considering this kind of change, or who are in the middle of making life changes happen. It aims to gather more than 1,000 stories, along with the responses to the questions that help them add meaning to their own stories. This collection of stories will shape initiatives to help adults pursue their own core projects, those that involve exploring compelling interests, redefining themselves, and positively impacting what’s around them. You can help by sharing your story.
Submitting your story means jotting down the basics of how you see your situation now. Write whatever comes to mind. Is your life changing? Do you have an idea? Use these thoughts to help create the basis of your entry.
You also can use the following questions to help you: “How is your life now in comparison with how you thought it would be? What’s important to you now that you might not have imagined at an earlier time? How would you like things to be for you and the world you live in, going forward?
After submitting your story you will be prompted to complete a short 5-7 minute survey of questions asking about how you add meaning to your life. If any specific prompt doesn’t apply to you, feel free to skip it.
For sharing your story with us, you will have access to additional resources put together to provide you with guides for that next step in your journey no matter the path.
As mentioned above, all of the information you contribute voluntarily will exclusively be used to determine common challenges people face in order to put together comprehensive resources that will aid others with their goals. For more information click here.
